July 2021 Update

picking up speed!!!!!!!!!!!

I added a couple of last minute changes to this build,  mainly regarding menu navigation, since it was terrible before. You can navigate where you can now, but until then everything is still WIP.

Saving is getting started, made a couple lines that creates a save file in the executable directory if you don't have one already. And for ease of use, it comes with pre-packaged with default settings, so you don't need to worry about first time set-up yet.

This is gonna be the point where we get back into the normal structure of devlogs, though since the devlogs part of the game isnt fully functional yet, this will be here for now. Though it won't be hard, it just wasn't the highest of priorities. ANYWAYS-

-locked fps to 60, as apparently that causes problems on higher refresh rates

-split the menu from one scene into multiple scenes (in retrospect i probably shoulda done this from the start but i wanted to be a cheeky lil bastard)

-ported title screen over (mostly lol)

-made actual save data, creates a dedicated folder on launch

-started accounting for different resolutions in menus (experimental rn)

-started refining player code (for no reason in particular) (:))

-started adding back powerups, as well as refining and fixing multiple stage gimmicks

-getting map > level transitions ready, as well as end screens

i am VERY excited to get back into working on this actively, however i still have other endeavors and that shouldnt be tee totally ignored

also, another somewhat related update, i found out how to post games to newgrounds (and subsequently itch.io, but you already knew that)! ill be posting smaller projects with my new html exporting power, and i have a couple basically done and just ready to be published. so look out for those i suppose. and yeah this game will also have an html player version, however just for the world 1 demo, since the full game would probably be too big and weird to be all html

all in all, godot was truly the right direction, and i can say that incredibly confidently!

... i should also probably change that metadata tag from clickteam to godot.... huh...
